Good news!! The chairman (André Heyns) and vice-chairman (Roy Ball) of Club Agulhas (the hosts of the Trans Agulhas Challenge) had a meeting with the main sponsor of the event (Pieter Smith) and between them they have decided to extend the entry date for the PSPG Trans Agulhas Challenge to the 15th September 2009 and to invite the RIBS to join us again this year at the Challenge of the Seas!! The RIBS are restricted to 115hp engines.
As you all should know (unless you didn’t get the email!) the Event will be, as per usual, an ordinary Club event and no International participation will be allowed. Unless the country is not affiliated with the UIM. Our aim is to keep it Proudly South African.
A friendly warning though, we will not allow anyone to jeopardise the Event in any manner whatsoever, so if your boat is illegal, please make sure you rectify your mistakes before you get to the starting line. This is a big event with sponsors contributing big money and therefore we will guard it with Rules and Amended Rules and yes,we still reserve the right to participation.
Remember: Application to enter (download here) will be taken to the organizing committee and their decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into if your application to enter is denied.
Pieter Smith is the main sponsor for this event. If you want to sponsor bigger, or your boat sponsor wants to, please correspond with Arno de Goede at PSPG (arno@pspg.co.za). Arno is your man! Please remember that the Trans Agulhas Challenge is a registered trademark and no one is allowed to use the name unless cleared with the main sponsor, via Arno de Goede.
